Luc and I have been up since 7:00. We tried to take a bath, but there was no hot water.
We did eat and take some medicine. When we went downstairs, just the boys, to breakfast, we found out why the hot water was gone. The place was packed. I sat at the bar with Luc in his stroller.
When we got back upstairs, Peggy was finally stirring. I went downstairs to bring her up some coffee.
"Guess what?" she said when I returned. "Martin called. We have a 1:30 appointment at the embassy."
We will try to get the Monday night flight now, but worst case, we fly on Tuesday night, pretty much for sure now.
I guess we can be a little less grumpy now. Today's agenda, then: We will take Luc back to the SOS clinic for a follow up. He is doing much better. Then it will be a day of our usual rounds.....

Our adoption trip to Vietnam
There and back again
We began our adoption adventure with China in the summer of 2005, but with the long wait we made a decision in the fall of 2006 to look into Vietnam. We were home in April 2007 with a new wonderful family.
We don't know how much more we will do with this blog. Upheaval in the Vietnam international adoption program has changed the process, and Vietnam is a country undergoing remarkable changes. Perhaps some of what we wrote is still useful, perhaps not.
While in Hanoi we tried to think about our questions before the trip, and we tried to answer them in the blog for the families who follow us. And of course while we were there new questions came up.
Thank you to all the people who supported us as readers and posters while we were away.

What wonderful news! I hope you have a great weekend and that Luc is feeling better. We are very happy for you and look forward to having two other World Child children and their families safely home. I have e-mailed a couple of times with Lisa while she was in Vietnam - thanks for sharing her travel news as well.
Safe travels! If you have a chance, please tell Trung (the night bartender at the hotel) hello from Kurt & Meg in NY - the red heads that purchased jade. Kurt had fun visiting and testing the Vietnam beer with him.
Fantastic! Both on the appointment and on Luc. Now, I hope y'all don't mind swinging by New Orleans on the way back to Chicago so we can meet the babies :)
